AOTA Announces Finalists to Online Safety
Leadership Awards
Recognizing Best Practices Promoting Consumer Safety & Brand Protection
SEATTLE, WA (May 20, 2008) - Today, the Authentication and Online
Trust Alliance (AOTA) announced the finalists for the upcoming Online Safety
Leadership Awards. Now in its' second years this program provides
recognition to those companies and organizations that are demonstrating
leadership in online safety and aiding in the online trust ecosystem. After
a comprehensive review by the program review committee and staff the 2008
finalists include Campaigner,
Goodmail Systems,
Overstock.com,
ReturnPath,
UnsubCentral and
VeriSign. These companies along
with the overall winner will be honored at the closing session of the 2008
Summit on Thursday June 5th .
"The review committee was overwhelmed in the quality of this years
submissions. The finalists each provide unique leadership in helping to lead
the industry and business community in improving online trust" said Erin
Ickes, Director of Marketing for Message Systems and Chair of the 2008
Programming Committee.
"This program recognizes industry, government and business leaders for
their commitment to online safety," said Craig Spiezle, chairman and founder
of AOTA. "Best practices are essential for enhancing online trust and
confidence, and we need to increase adoption by all stakeholders including
ISPs, marketers and service providers, to protect the online trust
ecosystem."
Winners in the 2007 inaugural awards program included Bank of America,
Alt-N, Bell Canada, Microsoft, PayPal and TRUSTe. This year, AOTA is seeking
companies that excel in their adoption of innovative technologies,
commitment to user and employee education and dedication to working with
government and law enforcement. Nominees will also be awarded points for
industry and business collaboration as well as other achievements in online
safety.
